Organised

Need to get organised. I still haven’t had a chance to dig up my resume and update it. After reading a few articles on the net, I’m wondering whether I should scrap it and start again. I know not to go over two pages, and having been in the employer’s position I know not to print it on coloured paper. I’m not sure whether I should just randomly e-mail it out, or drop in to potential employers in person. That’s how I picked up my last job.

Need to get in touch with some of my suppliers, see if they have any work going or know if any of their other resellers need staff. In the mean time, my previous boss and I are listing a whole bunch of stuff on eBay to raise some cash. Got to pay the rent one way or another, perhaps with my time off tomorrow I should go through the garage here looking for stuff to sell. We recently acquired a new ADSL Modem / Router here so I can sell the previous ones for a start, just need to locate the packaging.

That reminds me, I recently sent off my Logitech diNovo Media Desktop for warranty, with a bit of luck I’ll get it repaired or replaced, it’s kind of depressing knowing that you spent four hundred dollars on something that no longer works…

Risk Assessment

So what’s the going rate for bank robbery these days? 4 years vacaction footed by the tax payers? Just a passing thought 🙂 I mean if you’re going to rob something you may as well make it worthwhile, the charge is the same whether you steal $500 from a gas station or a few hundred thousand from a bank.

Yeah I’m just considering options for raising money. I need to organise a council pick-up or a skip bin or something, so that I may sort through the piles of crap in the garage, and assess what is worth selling (eBay) and what needs to be thrown away. Unfortunately I think most of it is just trash, and whatever is worth selling probably isn’t worth much.

I’m going to try and get my resume in order this weekend, as soon as I find it :-/ I don’t particularily feel like starting from scratch, hell I’m not even sure I can remember what was on the previous one. I guess I’ll just starting handing it out and e-mail spamming it to everyone and anyone. I’d be happy with just a ‘job’ at this stage, even if it means packing shelves at the local supermarket…

If this page went Web 2.0

Looking at that makes me question whether it’s time to change my template. It has been four months since I first created this design. I’m still mucking about with XHTML though, perhaps I should aim for HTML Strict before attempting XHTML Transitional. I had to come up with quite a few CSS hacks to get this design to validate. Anyone care to comment ?

Broke

Wow I’m so completely broke. I’ve got a few people who owe me money but none of them seem to be too eager to pay me back, maybe I shouldn’t be so nice to people. I don’t think I’m going anywhere this weekend, had a friend who wanted me to go down to the city for an atomic meet, but that’s just more money gone.

So I’m sitting at home, on the couch. Got a Megadrive emulator on my PC working with my USB gamepad, I need to download more ROMs though. Maybe I should work on Rojax, I’ve got a buglist several pages long…

Comments Updated

Comments have been updated again. Added a few JavaScript functions to correct a few bugs, more to go yet though:

  • Submit button becomes grey after clicking, preventing duplicate comments
  • Input fields now become blank when clicking / tabbing
  • Validator prevents empty comments being posted

Things still to do:

  • Add default form values to validator to prevent posting “Your name says Your comment”
  • Shift all the design to CSS of main template
  • Wrap long lines !
